Hello everyone, today i will try to exlplain the many causes that may make your car and truck's brakes squeal. There are alot of different reasons that noise make come from your brake pads and rotors when stopping or just driving along. First things first. The most common reason is that the brake pads or better said the friction material that contacts the rotor that slows you down is worn out. When that happens a small wear indicator or metal tab hits the brake rotor/disc. This small metal tab is designed to make a god awful noise to annoy us and remind us to get our brake system serviced by an automotive service center. Another reason may be that the vehicle has been sitting for a period of time and there is a rust build up on the brake rotor/disc that is contacting the brake pad and making a vibration/frequency type squeak/squeak. This type of noise may come on and then go away after the car has been driven a while. The best thing to do is get your braking system check regularly, while getting and oil change or any regular maintenance on your vehicle at the garage. Please check to make sure that the auto repair facility that you choose employes only ASE certified technicians like our facility in Wellsboro Automotive in wellsboro pennsylvania.
